Feminism is a collection of movements aimed at defining, establishing and defending equal political, economic, and social rights and equal opportunities for women Its concepts overlap with those of women's rights. Very often when you start talking about equality and the likes, people ask you with a sneer, so you are a feminist. Like it is a dirty word and are wary that any point time you will start burning your bra.
So instead of saying yes or no, I just reply saying that I support gender equality.
All I really want is people to be able make their choices and decisions with out having some throw "Oh but you are a boy/girl" thrown at their face.
What does my gender have to do with what I can or cannot do?
Being different is not the same as being unequal.
People have have the right to make choices that are best suited to them, capability is the discerning factor not gender.
Damn the gender stereotyping and sexism.
